Ed Kelton's first experience with photography was in an old chemical-spilled darkroom of the semi-weekly newspaper in his hometown, The Andrews County News in Andrews, Texas. It was death by fire and his interest in photography was soon dead to chemicals.

His next brush with photography came after buying a used Leica for his introduction to photography class in college. He and his roommate were on summer vacation for a few days in New Orleans, and as Ed was walking out of St. Louis Cathedral, he looked up and took a dramatic photo of the cathedral facade that won first place in photography in that year's literary magazine, The Phoenix. But that was pretty much the end of his photography for a long time.

When he and his wife began traveling with friends through Europe in the 1990s, he was using a Fuji point-and-shoot with a great lens that took some pictures that pleased him.

But his real interest in photography did not blossom until digital photography came into its own. For one thing, there were no messy chemicals, and you could use a computer. He first purchased a Sony Mavica, which resulted in thousands of diskettes here, there and everywhere and some pictures that were not too bad. On a 10-day vacation in Hawaii in 2001, he read about digital cameras and decided on a Canon D30 with a Canon 28-135mm lens. In 2005, he moved up to a Canon 20D.

I hope you enjoy what you see. And that you will come back to see the pages as I add more pictures, new and old.
